About ProductVitals
ProductVitals is the brainchild of two experienced product leaders turned coaches: Simon Waldman and Tom Morgan.
Between us we have more than 50 years of experience building product teams and shipping products to millions of users.
We both know the value and importance of good feedback in helping product teams develop. So much of the success of our work is down to the connections we build and the way we work with others. But we've both been frustrated by the lack of easy-to-use solutions that are genuinely relevant to product work, and can be used meaningfully across an entire team.
Standard HR systems are often very generic, resulting in feedback that can be vague and open to interpretation. They also tend to get used primarily for performance management rather than development.
You can build your own thing using Google or Microsoft Forms, but that's difficult to scale, and it means constructing a full questionnaire from scratch. If you go down that route it's surprisingly hard to combine quantitative scores with meaningful qualitative responses, let alone roll everything up into a coherent picture of how the team as a whole is performing (even with AI to help!).
And then there's the rating system. All too often you're left with lots of '3 out of 5' scores — precise-looking numbers that feel impressive but leave you asking "so what?"
We built ProductVitals because we believed product teams deserved better. A system that:
-
Is built specifically for product teams, grounded in how great product organisations actually work
-
Has a robust but easy-to-understand rating system — one that avoids the endless '3 out of 5' problem
-
Gives individuals genuinely useful feedback, and gives leaders a clear view of their team's collective strengths and opportunities
-
Treats AI as an enabler of great product work, not an end in itself
-
Lets you ask tailored questions — different ones for engineers, or for business stakeholders
-
Is focused squarely on development, not on measuring performance
It's the tool we both wish we'd had twenty years ago. We think you'll find it useful too.
